GFORCE Teamwear skates into partnership with England Men’s Roller Derby

LEADING sportswear designers, GFORCE Teamwear, has today been unveiled as an official partner of the England Men’s Roller Derby team.

The firm, which is based in Leicester, has joined forces with the club as a key sponsor and the team’s official kit supplier, in a two-year deal.

GFORCE will be creating a new look for the squad and will support the team in the run up to the Men’s Roller Derby World Cup, set to be held in Manchester in February 2018.

Commenting on the partnership, GFORCE sales director Simon Ward, said: “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with England Men’s Roller Derby and supporting the team as they work hard to prepare for next year’s World Cup.

“We’ve been impressed with their team spirit and positive attitude to sport, both things that we pride ourselves on here at GFORCE, and we look forward to working together to raise the profile of the sport and help the team achieve their ambitions on the track.”

Formed in 2013, the England Men’s Roller Derby team is made up of players from across the strongest Roller Derby teams in the UK, ranging in age from 21-years-old to mid-40s.

To date, the self-funded team has won many accolades, including silver at the inaugural Men’s Roller Derby World Cup in 2014.

Niks Kent, England Men’s Roller Derby team manager, said: “We’re really excited to be partnering with GFORCE Teamwear, as we head closer towards next year’s Roller Derby World Cup.

“Their expertise and experience in kit design is going to be invaluable and help our squad really stand out on the track, as well as help our squad members feel really part of the team and proud to be a member of England Men’s Roller Derby.”

Roller Derby is a contact sport that sees two teams compete on quad roller skates, on an oval track, using speed, tactics and force to overtake each other.

The sport originated in America in the 1970s and, in recent years, it has soared in popularity in the UK.

Try-outs to be on the England Men’s Roller Derby team are open for registration at present, with tickets available to purchase via the clubs Facebook page and website.
